A top-five battle in the SEC begins on Thursday night with No. 3 Arkansas visiting No. 5 Texas A&M for the first game of a three-game series.
It’s the final weekend of the regular season in the SEC, and there are still some very consequential games left to be played. This weekend, there’s no bigger series than the one happening in Fayetteville between No. 3 Arkansas (42-10, 19-8 SEC) and No. 5 Texas A&M (42-10, 17-10 SEC) at Blue Bell Park. That’s a three-game series, which begins on Thursday. These matchups have major implications for the SEC Tournament in terms of seeding, and potentially for the NCAA Tournament as well. Coming into the weekend Arkansas leads the SEC West. However, the Razorbacks are just two games up on the Aggies. They’re also one game back of SEC-East leader No. 2 Kentucky for the top overall seed.

No. 2 Tennessee is also in that mix, one game behind Kentucky in the East. All of those teams are in the mix for top seeds when the SEC tournament starts next week.
Arkansas is coming off of a series win last week. The Razorbacks were at home and took two of three games from No. 14 Mississippi State. Meanwhile Texas A&M hit a bit of a speed bump last week, dropping two of three games to Ole Miss.
