On Thursday night, Miami will host No. 3 Clemson at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field as the teams begin a three-game ACC series. The Hurricanes come into Thursday night’s game with an overall record of 14-10 and a conference record of 5-4 so far. The team has won two games in a row with the most recent being a 14-7 win over FIU on Tuesday. Jason Torres led at the plate for the ‘Canes with a 3-for-5 performance that produced two RBI. Jacoby Long also had two RBI from his two hits in the win. Chris Scinta was the third pitcher to come in for Miami and was credited with the win after 1.2 innings of work in which he struck out two batters and gave up one hit.

The Tigers are currently 22-2 overall and 5-1 in conference play with the only two losses of the season being against Kennesaw State and Duke. The team is on a seven game win streak with the last game resulting in a close 14-12 victory over Florida State on Sunday. A trio of Tigers finished the game with three hits as Blake Wright, Alden Mathes and Andrew Ciufo combined for 10 RBI. Lucas Mahlstedt took the win for Miami with two innings on the mound in which he struck out one and gave up one hit.
The last time these two teams met was during the ACC tournament last season in which Miami beat Clemson 11-5.
