For the Gunners, victory means a place back atop the Premier League standings at a crucial point in the campaign as it looks to keep the advantage ahead of Liverpool or Manchester City. Meanwhile, Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham is looking to use one of its games in hand to spring a surprise over its north London nemesis and keep the pressure on Aston Villa in the hunt for fourth place.

After challenging for top honors itself earlier in the season, Spurs would undoubtedly settle for fourth place today as it looks to sure up Champions League soccer for next season.
Spurs enter this weekend’s slate sat in fifth place and six points below Aston Villa, but two crucial games in hand mean the edge can still be theirs provided they win both of those fixtures.
The problem is Mikel Arteta’s men look full of confidence after hammering five past Chelsea in midweek without response:
Tottenham, on the other hand, succumbed 4-0 at Newcastle in its last test a fortnight ago and is now dangling in doubt regarding its chances of a top-four finish.
Spurs have won their last five in a row at home—eight if including solely Premier League fixtures—and managed to hold Arsenal to a 2-2 draw at the Emirates earlier this season.
Captain Son Heung-min was at the double on that occasion and saved Spurs’ skin with a goal either side of half-time.
That being said, this Arsenal team has form at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after winning 2-0 here last season, the club’s first Premier League win away to Tottenham in almost a decade.
