Louisville and Clemson meet Friday in ACC college baseball pool play.
Pool play concludes on Friday at the ACC tournament, with No. 2 seed Clemson set to face No. 7 seed Louisville in one of the contests. Clemson is coming off a surprise loss on Thursday, falling 8-7 to No. 11 seed Miami. Clemson got a big game from second baseman Jarren Purify, who drove in two runs on two hits, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a five-run second inning for Miami, as Clemson starting pitcher Ethan Darden struggled early in that one.

As Louisville, the Cardinals were last in action on Tuesday, with Miami defeating them 8-5. By virtue of these wins, Miami has already advanced to the semifinals, meaning this game between Louisville and Clemson is just for pride, as neither team will be able to advance out of the pool since both lost to Miami.
In the loss to Miami, Louisville got down early, allowing three runs in the first inning. The Hurricanes added three more in the seventh and while Louisville tried to mount a ninth-inning comeback with a pair of runs in the inning, it was too little, too late for the seven-seed. Zion Rose had a pair of RBIs for the losing side.
