Game 1 of the NCAA DI Softball Championship Columbia Super Regional series between Duke and Missouri will take place on Friday afternoon. Mizzou comes into this game with a 47-16 record overall. The team actually lost its opening game of the regional last weekend against Omaha 3-1, but reeled off four wins in a row after that to advance, taking down Indiana 5-1, Washington 4-1, then beating Omaha twice. The final game was a 1-0 win in nine innings for the Tigers, with Madison Walker driving in the only run on an RBI single.

Duke sits at 50-6 on the year and had no trouble in the regional round, beating Morgan State 6-1 and then sweeping South Carolina with an 8-0 win and a 10-1 win. In the final game, Duke got a well-rounded effort as six players recorded an RBI. Amiah Burgess led the way with three of them, while Francesca Frelick batted in a pair of runners as well.
This will be the first time that these two programs have met on the softball field.
