On Saturday night, NC State will continue its series with No. 2 Clemson as the teams play game two at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. The Wolf Pack comes into Saturday night’s contest with an overall record of 19-12 and a conference record of 9-7 for a spot in third place in the ACC Atlantic standings. Last night, NC State pulled off an 11-8 upset over the Tigers to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Josh Hogue opened the scoring for the Wolf Pack with a solo shot in the first and it sparked the offense right out of the gate. Eli Serrano III went 3-for-4 with four RBI to turn in one of his best performances of the season. Shane Van Dam improved to 4-0 on the season, pitching 4.2 innings and striking out eight.

After last night’s loss, the Tigers are now 28-5 overall with a conference record of 10-3 so far. Rocco Reid was credited with the loss after pitching one inning for the Tigers. Will Taylor led the Tigers offensively, going 2-for-4 with four RBI. Taylor hit a two-run homer early in the game before bringing in another two runs with a single in the fourth. NC State held Clemson to just seven hits, a stat the team will need to improve upon on Saturday night.
