A cross-state non-conference matchup in women’s college lacrosse will take place between Colorado and Denver on Wednesday night.
On Wednesday night, a top 20 matchup will take place as No. 20 Colorado travels to take on No. 13 Denver at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium for a rivalry match. The Buffaloes bring a two-game win streak into Wednesday’s contest, which brings their overall record to 7-3 and their conference record to 2-1. The team’s most recent game was played against San Diego State and resulted in a big 17-8 victory at home. Madeline Pisani and Averi Gardner each recored four goals in the win to lead the offense, while Lily Assini supported offensive play with one goal and three assists. Danielle Heintz and Caity Brower split goalkeeping responsibilities and combined for six saves to anchor the defense.

Emelia Bohi came up big in net for the Pioneers, making six crucial saves to help keep the team’s win streak intact.
Denver and Colorado met last year during non-conference play, as well, and the game was tightly contested with Denver coming out on top in a 9-8 victory. The record between the two teams now stands at 6-4 in Denver’s favor.
