Melissa Cook Softball Stadium is set to host the exciting weekend matchup between home side Notre Dame and visiting program Boston College on Sunday in college softball action. BC fell to Notre Dame, 4-3 in the first meeting of the teams in a three-game series. Game one began Friday afternoon. However, play was postponed in the bottom of the fifth due to weather. Game one resumed Saturday afternoon. The Eagles kicked off play scoring one run in the second, and added another in the fourth to take a 2-0 lead. Boston College manufactured runs off of a Maycee Hilt RBI  and a Zoe Hines RBI sacrifice fly. Notre Dame responded in the bottom of the fourth adding one to the board, the Irish then added another in the fifth evening the score. BC left two runners on base going into the bottom of the sixth. The Fighting Irish added one run, the Eagles were unable to respond.

The Eagles took game two, 10-9, in the second match-up of the day against Notre Dame. The Irish struck first in the bottom of the first, going up 2-0. The Eagles responded in the third, taking a 3-2 lead on a bases-loaded two-RBI single from Jordan Stephens followed by a RBI single from Jules Shields. Notre Dame countered and rallied four runs in the bottom of the third to regain the lead 6-3. 

Notre Dame rallied too late in the bottom of the seventh inning, adding two runs, leaving the score 10-9.
