They won a pitcher’s duel in the opener 1-0 in nine innings and then got their bats going on Saturday to win 9-3. The Bruins have now won four in a row and sit at 26-9 overall and 11-3 in the Pac-12. The two straight wins over the Cardinal has jumped them into first place in the Pac-12. They are a game up in the loss column on the Cardinal and with just two conference series left they can take control of the race for the regular season title.

The Cardinal, though, are looking to avoid the sweep and pull back even with the Bruins in the conference standings.
The Bruins had been playing well coming into this weekend series, as they had won 10 of 11, but they just haven’t been able to solve UCLA’s pitching yet.
They are hoping they can reverse that trend on Sunday and get back in the win column. The Cardinal have two tough series coming up against ranked teams in Washington and Oregon and they can’t afford to suffer another loss on Sunday.
