    Georgia and Texas A&M play for the women’s SEC Championship in tennis as the top two seeds today. 

    The top two teams in the SEC play for the SEC Championship in tennis after earning their way to the final match today. Top-seeded Georgia has looked utterly dominant winning both of its matches 4-0 in the third round and the semifinals respectively. They will be challenged by second-seeded Texas A&M had a bit more of a competitive journey to the championship winning 4-0 in the third round and 4-2 in the semifinals. Both teams have been on a collision course since the tournament brackets were revealed and now play for the right to call themselves the best team in women’s tennis in the SEC this season.

    The Bulldogs are the defending tournament champions with the Aggies winning the previous year. Over the past four seasons the Bulldogs have won the regular season twice and the tournament twice. The Aggies during this same stretch have won the regular season twice and are looking for their second tournament win today.

    The Bulldogs journey to the championship has run through the competition with 4-0 victories over eighth-seeded LSU and fourth-seeded Tennessee with the home crowd behind them as the host team. A win in the championship match today would give the Bulldogs their eighth win in tournament history.

    For the Aggies, they took care of business against seventh-seeded Vanderbilt (4-0) and then came out victorious in a 4-2 match with third-seeded Florida. The Aggies won their first championship two seasons ago and are going for number two as the program continues to build a presence in the conference.
