On Sunday afternoon, Florida State will look to complete the sweep over Notre Dame in front of a home crowd at JoAnne Graf Field. The Fighting Irish dropped the first two games of the series to move to 7-10 in conference play and 23-16 overall for a spot in eighth place in the ACC standings. Yesterday’s game resulted in a 7-3 loss for Notre Dame after having to play from behind. Micaela Kastor gave up six earned runs in just 1.1 innings of work in the circle to take the loss on the mound. The offense tried to play catchup and earned three runs from an Addison Amaral fly out, a Karina Gaskins homer and a Rachel Allen single, but it wasn’t enough to make up the seven run deficit.

After yesterday’s victory, the Seminoles have now won four in a row to move to 30-10 overall and 11-3 in conference play which puts them in second place in the ACC standings behind Duke. Saturday’s win was powered by strong appearances at the plate as six different players brought runs in for the team, none of which were extra base hits. Makenna Reid improved to 12-1 on the season with five innings in which she struck out four batters.
