UCLA and Arizona State will meet Saturday night in their penultimate regular season game ahead of postseason play.
On Saturday night, No. 8 UCLA will continue it’s stay in Tempe as the team takes on Arizona State in the second game of the teams’ final Pac-12 series of the year. The Sun Devils bring an overall record of 19-28 into Saturday’s game with a conference record of 3-19 which puts them in last place in the Pac-12 standings. The team has now lost two games in a row after dropping the series opener to UCLA on Friday night in a 4-2 defeat. In last night’s loss, the Sun Devils’ only runs came from the bat of Alesia Denby who hit a two-run homer to center field in the fourth inning. Deborah Jones was pegged with the loss after pitching a complete game and striking out two batters.

The Bruins are at the opposite end of the standings this season, holding the top spot with a conference record of 15-4 and an overall record of 32-10. On Friday night, the team extended its win streak to three games after Kaitlyn Terry earned her 14th win of the year with seven innings of work, striking out six batters and giving up just two hits. The Bruins finished the game with nine hits led by Sharlize Palacios who finished the game with two hits and one RBI. While the team only had two earned runs in the game, the Bruins capitalized on errors by the Arizona State defense to earn the win on the road.
