A tradition unlike any other. The first round of The 2024 Masters gets underway on Thursday from Augusta National.

The 2024 edition of The Masters officially begins on Thursday. This year’s ceremonial start time and first pairing is at 7:40 a.m. ET on Thursday, with ESPN coverage continuing at 2:00. This year’s field is highlighted by defending champion Jon Rahm. Back as one of 13 members of the LIV Golf tour in this year’s field, Rahm will be trying to be the first back-to-back Masters champion since Tiger Woods in 2001 and 2002, and just the fourth player ever to accomplish the feat joining Woods, Jack Nicklaus (1965 and 1966), and Nick Faldo (1989, 1990). Woods is also back in the field as well.

Last year he had to withdraw due to injury seven holes into his third round. This will be Woods’ first event since he had to cut his appearance at the Genesis Invitational short due to illness. Woods’ five Masters championships (with his most recent coming in 2019) are the second-most all-time, trailing Nicklaus’ six.

There will be one change to the iconic course for this year’s tournament. Augusta did some work on the par-5 second hole, moving the tee box back and to the left to extend the hole by 10-15 yards.
