If the Cardinal are able to hold on it will be the team’s first win in this event since 2019 and fourth win in the last 10 years (nine total events). While the teams compete to see who will come out with a win in the 2024 Western Intercollegiate tournament, the individual tournament has a significantly more competitive final round on the course today with the Wildcats Filip Jakubcik holding a one stroke lead.
Jakubcik enters the final round at four-under-par after back-to-back rounds of 68 to maintain his place at the top of the leaderboard. There are eight others three strokes back and playing under par through the first two rounds that will look to close the gap on Jakubcik today.
Mahanth Chirravuri (Pepperdine) is alone in second place at three-under-par with a quartet of golfers tied at two-under-par. That group features Nathan Petronzio (Texas), Garrett Engle (Chattanooga), Xaun Lou of the Spartans and Karl Vilips of the Cardinal all vying to close the gap and win the individual championship of the 2024 Western Intercollegiate.
