The second-round action continues at the 2022 French Open on Thursday, with the top men’s and women’s players facing off on clay.
The second round kicked off on Wednesday with Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal defeating their respective rivals to advance to the third round. On the women’s side, just one out of the three ranked players left advanced on the day, with No. 14 Belinda Bencic defeating Bianca Andreescu in two sets. On Court 14, American Sloane Stephens defeated No. 26 ranked Sorana Cirstea in three sets to advance to the next round.

The second-round action continues on Thursday for the Women’s Singles, with the second-highest ranked player left, No. 3 Paula Badosa, facing Kaja Juvan on the Suzanne Lenglen Court in the early wave of matches.
On the men’s side, No. 8 ranked Casper Ruud will face Emil Ruusuvuori to kick off the day of action on Court 14. No. 2 Daniil Medvedev will face Lasio Dere on the Philippe Chatrier Court to wrap up the early action for the men on Thursday.
