The grounds at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Gardens, Florida, have been set up to host the Miami Open, which will be continuing on Thursday. It is the 39th edition of the combined men’s and women’s event and is classified as an ATP Masters 1000 event on the 2024 ATP Tour and a WTA 1000 event on the 2024 WTA Tour. Daniil Medvedev and Petra Kvitová are the defending champions in the men’s and women’s singles draw, respectively. However, Kvitová did not enter the tournament due to pregnancy, making it the third consecutive year that the reigning women’s singles champion pulled out from the tournament.

The second semifinal in the ATP draw is set to be disputed between the No. 11-seeded Grigor Dimitrov and the No. 4-seeded Alexander Zverev. Dimitrov put on a show on Stadium Court in his quarterfinal against 2024 Indian Wells champion Carlos Alcaraz. Alcaraz was the top seed at the 2024 Miami Open.
The Bulgarian beat the Spanish phenom in straight sets to advance to the semifinals of the tournament (6-2, 6-4). Meanwhile, Zverev got past Fábián Marzsán in straight sets as well to advance to the final four (6-3, 7-5).
Furthermore, the German pro has yet to drop a set at the 2024 Miami Open, getting past Felix Auger-Aliassime, Chris Eubanks and Karen Khachanov along the way.
