Either Air Force (11-15) or Nevada (12-12) will come away from Saturday’s Mountain West Conference series finale at Peccole Park in Reno with no worse than sole possession of second place in the conference. Both teams are 7-4, one game behind Fresno State, after splitting the first two games of the weekend set. The Wolf Pack last reached the NCAA tournament in 2021 but have never advanced beyond regional play. The Falcons were in the touyrney in 2022, the program’s seventh bid but its first since 1969, and have also never moved past the regional round.
