The Cardinals are also trying to win three games in a row after a 4-2 win against the Mets on Friday night. New York is trying to stay above .500 in this one while St. Louis is still two games back of that mark and in last place in the NL Central. Things were looking up though when Alec Burleson hit a three-run homer in the second inning to get all the run support they’d need. It was Burleson’s first homer in nearly nine months. Wilson Contreras followed that up with a 445-ft bomb in the next inning. Miles Mikolas had a good night too going 5.2 innings while only giving up two runs for the win. St. Louis will be the slight favorite this afternoon with a -130 line in its favor.

Sonny Gray will go for the Cardinals who are 7-7 on the road. The righty has been a very strong addition to this St. Louis rotation. Gray has a 2-1 record with a minuscule 1.04 ERA. The Mets will try to tie this series up by starting Adrian Houser but he is 0-2 with a 7.45 ERA so far this season. Can Houser and the Mets turn it around in primetime on Saturday?
