Undefeated through its first two home matches of the season Loudoun United FC welcomes perennial power Louisville City FC into Segra Field in an Eastern Conference showdown. Louisville City comes into this match off its first loss of the 2024 USL Championship campaign and a mid-week U.S. Open Cup win the Boys in Purple look for its seventh win in eight games against Loudoun. The hosts picked up an Open Cup win of their own on Wednesday beating Richmond Kickers 5-4 on penalties but are seventh in the East standings while Louisville is second behind their high-scoring offense that has netted 17 goals through its first five games.

Louisville is led by striker Wilson Harris who has a team-high seven goals including a hat trick in a home win against Indy Eleven earlier this month. Harris, who was the March USL Player of the Month, led the club with 15 goals in 2022 and at just 24 years old is one goal shy of becoming the youngest-ever player to net 50 career goals in the USL Championship.
Loudoun United boasts a talented pair with forward Zach Ryan, who netted three goals in and three assists in his first five matches, and midfielder Florian Valot after both spending time with New York Red Bulls of the MLS.
Despite its offensive prowess this season, Louisville City has been suspect on the defensive half having allowed six goals in its last four matches.
