Minnesota State opened up play in the tournament against No. 2-seeded Missouri Western. It was 78-58 with 19 points from Destinee Bursch and 18 points from Natalie Bremer. Moving on, Minnesota State upset yet another higher seed beating No. 3-seed Fort Hays Staet 78-66 in the second round. Once again, Bursch had 19 points and Bremer had 18 points in the win. Joey Batt and Emily Herzberg also had 14 points each. Moving on to the Central championship, Minnesota State took down the No. 1-seeded Southern Nazarene massively 80-48. Batt had 28 points while Bursch had 23 points in the dominant win. In the quarterfinals Minnesota State took on no. 4-seeed Georgia Southwestern and won 93-88 led by 21 points from Batt. In the semifinals, Minnesota State beat No. 8-seed Cal St. San Marcos by just two points led by a 29-point performance from Bremer.
