SEC baseball continues for Missouri and Tennessee on Saturday afternoon in Knoxville.
On Saturday afternoon, No. 3 Tennessee will host Missouri at Lindsey Nelson Stadium for the final game of an SEC series. The Tigers have struggled this season and bring an overall record of 19-25 and a conference record of 6-14 into Saturday’s game. The team is in last place in the SEC East standings and has now lost two games in a row after dropping the first two against Tennessee by scores of 10-1 in the first and a much closer 3-2 loss in the second. Logan Lunceford earned the loss, pitching 5.0 innings allowing two earned runs, two walks and four strikeouts. Missouri’s only runs came from a Trevor Austin blast to left field in the eight, but the Vols held them to just six hits.

Tennessee scored two runs in the fourth inning to open up the scoring when Dylan Dreiling was able to come home on a wild pitch and Hunter Ensley doubled allowing Dean Curley to score. In the seventh inning, the Volunteers were able to extend their lead when Blake Burke grounded out to first, scoring Cal Stark. Earning the win was Drew Beam pitching 7.1 innings and allowing two earned runs while striking out an impressive eight batters.
