San Francisco and Stanford will meet on Monday afternoon in a non-conference beach volleyball matchup.
The beach volleyball season continues in California on Monday as San Francisco travels to take on No. 3 Stanford. The Dons come into Monday’s non-conference match with an overall record of 5-9 so far this season. The team’s most recent match resulted in a 5-0 win over Monterey Peninsula on Saturday in Novato, California. The team also played Saint Mary’s on Saturday, but lost 4-1 to the Gaels. Against Saint Mary’s, the Dons and Gaels traded thrilling three-set victories. San Francisco took an early lead, but the Gaels erased an early deficit to tie things up. Paola Peralta, playing with Chloe Swanson for the first time this season, took care of business in straight sets, giving the Gaels a 2-1 lead. The win came from Hawley Harrer and Hannah Couch, but not before the Dons took the first set. Harrer and Couch looked dominant in the second and third, to clinch the victory for the Gaels.

The Cardinal brings a four-match win streak into Monday and an overall record of 12-2. The team is 2-1 in conference play, as well. In their last time out, the Cardinal earned a 4-1 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Xolani Hodel and Brooke Rockwell, Ruby Sorra Taylor Wilson, Kelly Belardi and Chloe Hoffman and Kate Reilly and Clara Stowell each won in straight sets to lead the team to victory. Maya Harvey and Ashley Vincent fell behind early and although they won the second set, Corpus Christi earned a 15-12 third set win to avoid the sweep.
Stanford and San Francisco last met last year and the Cardinal made quick work of the Dons with a sweep.
