Two teams who are fresh off of European Championship Qualifying games will take on each other as the men’s national team of Scotland and the men’s national team of Northern Ireland will head to Hampden Park in Glasglow, Scotland, for an international friendly today. The Scottish national team took on Cyprus and Spain in the two games of the group stage for Scotland. The team shut out Cyprus 3-0 in the first group-stage match. John McGinn scored the first goal in the 21st minute, which was the only goal of the first half. After a majority scoreless second half, Scott McTominay scored twice in the final three minutes to win 3-0. He scored in the 87th and stoppage time. In the second game of qualifying group stage, Scotland took on Spain and won another shut-out game 2-0. McTominay scored both goals in that win in the 7th and 51st minutes of the game. The last time these two teams played, Scotland came out on top 1-0 in March of 2015.
