Tennessee and NC State will look to keep dancing with a win on Monday night when the teams meet in the round of 32.
On Monday afternoon, the sixth-seeded Tennessee Lady Vols will take on the third-seeded NC State Wolf Pack in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Tennessee comes into Monday’s game with an overall record of 20-12 after beating Green Bay 92-63 in the opening round of tournament play. Rickea Jackson led the Tennessee offense with 26 points and narrowly missed a double-double with her team-leading nine rebounds, as well. Sara Puckett added 14 points to the scoreboard while Jewel Spear and Tess Darby joined the double-digit scoring efforts with 13 and 11 points, respectively. The Lady Vols finished the game shooting an impressive 58.3% from the field and 40% from the three-point line.

The Wolf Pack improved to 28-6 on Saturday after beating Chattanooga 64-45 in the opening round of tournament play. Aziaha James scored 19 points to lead the NC State offense while Saniya Rivers and River Baldwin also finished in double figures with 16 and 10 points, respectively. Balwin led on the boards with 11 rebounds to earn a double-double in the win. NC State only shot 33.3% from the field and 27.6% from beyond the arc which may not be good enough to make it past the Lady Vols for a spot in the Sweet 16.
The last time NC State and Tennessee played dates back to 2004 and the game resulted in a 64-54 win for the Lady Vols to bring the all-time series record to 12-3 in Tennessee’s favor.
