How to Watch Villarreal vs Sevilla: Stream La Liga Live, TV Channel

Reformed rivals Sevilla and Villarreal collide with a chance to make up for lost time

Both Villarreal and Sevilla would sooner see this season of La Liga come to an end, but they must first see out the remaining fixtures on the calendar, starting with a clash against one another on Saturday. Two of Spain’s second-tier titans have endured campaigns from hell and underperformed in a major way by their usual standards but are piecing together some self-respect in this latter portion of the campaign. Sevilla’s overhaul in form has been particularly commendable after the club looked like a candidate for relegation only a few months ago, with the club looking to extend its season’s best unbeaten streak to six in a row.

Los Nervionenses can in fact climb from 12th and up to within one point of Villarreal with a win at the Estadio de la Ceramica this weekend, a venue they haven’t won a game at since 2017.

That’s great news for a Yellow Submarine side desperate to keep alive some glimmer of hope to qualify for Europe, though Villarreal can’t afford many more dropped points to make that a reality.

Dropped points like the three that went astray at Celta Vigo last Sunday, who triumphed 3-2 over 10-man Villarreal thanks to an 82nd-minute decider courtesy of Tasos Douvikas:

That being said, Villarreal still deserves praise for suffering just three defeats in its last 16 matches, a much-improved return on the team that formerly lost five in the space of one month over Christmas.

Sevilla has enjoyed a similar revival and lost just two of its 13 tests dating back to January, which at one point looked all but impossible following its own winter stretch of eight losses in 11 games.

Quique Sanchez Flores has successfully returned the club closer to where it deserves to be, though the fact remains that European qualification will elude the team this term.

Francis Coquelin should come into Villarreal’s midfield as a replacement for the suspended Santi Comesana, while Eric Bailly, Bertrand Traore and Yeremy Pino remain out of action.

Sevilla has its own suspension absence in Loic Bade, while Nemanja Gudelj, Djibril Sow and Isaac Romero are each among the club’s sidelined stars.

Regional restrictions may apply.
