The Washington Nationals look to restart their winning streak on Wednesday as they continue their road trip against the Texas Rangers.
After a very pedestrian start to the 2024 season, the defending World Series Champion Texas Rangers have won three of their last four games and with a win Wednesday against the Washington Nationals would have their longest winning streak of the season. The Nationals had a four-game winning streak heading into this series after sweeping a weekend series against the Marlins, but lost yesterday’s series opener to the Rangers 7-1, as Texas starter Jon Gray held Washington to three hits to earn his first win of the season. Tonight the Rangers will send veteran Andrew Heaney (0-3, 6.26 ERA) to the mound in search of his first win of the season.

Nationals right-hander Trevor Williams (2-0, 2.70) will be on the bump for Washington looking for his first win in his last four starts despite not allowing more than three runs in any of his last three outings. Williams, who won 14 games with the Pirates back in 2018, has 24 wins in the five years since making stops in Chicago and with the Mets, before joining the Nationals prior to the start of the 2023 season.
Adolis Garcia leads the Rangers with eight home runs and 25 RBIs this season after hitting .301 with six home runs and 21 RBIs in the month of April. Garcia has driven in over 100 runs in each of the last two seasons and is on pace for his third 100-plus RBI season in a row.
Nationals shortstop CJ Abrams has at least one hit in 15 of his last 16 games and leads Washington in batting average, home runs and RBIs this season.
