    The New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles kick-off their first series of the season against each other on Monday.

    For the first time this season on Monday, the New York Yankees (19-10) and Baltimore Orioles (17-10) take the field against each other. The American League East rivals are in first and second place in the division through the first 25-plus games with New York coming in on a two-game winning streak. Heading into this game Baltimore has the highest scoring offense in the American League, led by the most home runs in the Majors (44) with New York just behind them with the second-most home runs (37) to date. He heads into this game with a 4.45 ERA along with 34 strikeouts. Rodriguez is off to a hot start after a strong rookie season where he went 7-4 overall in 23 starts.

    For New York, it counters with right-handed veteran Clarke Schmidt (2-0). This is also Schmidt’s sixth start in his fifth season with the team. He is pacing for a career-best season early on with a 3.55 ERA and 29 strikeouts for a New York team with its eyes on a division title and the playoffs.
