    Emerson Hancock and the Seattle Mariners will take the mound against Dakota Hudson and the Colorado Rockies on Friday.

    The Seattle Mariners will head on the road this weekend in the first game on Friday of a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado. This will be the first game between these two teams this season. The Mariners come into this series just one game under the .500 mark at 9-10 through 19 games. They are the No. 2 team in the American League West sitting 1.5 games behind the divisional-leading Texas Rangers. They are coming off of a series in which they swept the Cincinnati Reds including a 5-1 win in the last game. Mitch Garver, Cal Raleigh, and Josh Rojas all hit home runs in that win. The Rockies enter the weekend with a 4-15 record this season which puts them as the last-placed team in the National League West. They were swept by the Philadelphia Phillies in their last series while Michael Toglia leads the team with four home runs and eight RBIs despite batting .122 this season.

    Emerson Hancock will get another start for Seattle on Friday. He is 1-2 this season with an inflated 7.98 ERA and 11 strikeouts over 14.2 innings pitched. He went 6.0 innings at home against the Chicago Cubs allowing two earned runs on four hits in his last start. He struck out four batters in the 4-1 loss on 74 total pitches.

    Dakota Hudson will be the other starter on the mound tonight. The Colorado pitcher is 0-3 this season with a 4.15 ERA and 11 strikeouts over 17.1 innings. His last start was on the road against the Toronto Blue Jays in a game that ended 5-3. He went 6.0 innings giving up all five earned runs with five strikeouts.
