How to Watch Mets at Reds: Stream MLB Live, TV Channel

The Cincinnati Reds and New York Mets play the rubber game of their 3-game weekend series on Sunday at Great American Ball Park.

The Cincinnati Reds (5-3) look to win their third straight series to open the 2024 season when they host the New York Mets (2-6) in the finale of a three-game series at Great American Ball Park. Cincinnati, like every other team in the National League Central, is above the .500 mark while the Mets have won two of three after an 0-5 start. Left-hander Nick Lodolo is nearing a return to the Reds’ rotation as he is set to make his final rehab start at Triple-A Louisville on Sunday. He has been out with tendon inflammation in his left calf.

Spencer Steer slugged a three-run homer as Cincinnati scored five runs in the eighth inning to rally past the Mets 9-6 on Saturday afternoon. Steer earlier stole home as part of a double steal in the sixth that cut New York’s lead to 5-4. He is off to a torrid start, going 13-for-29 with three home runs and 12 RBI.

Omar Narváez stroked a two-run single and Brandon Nimmo followed with a two-run double during a four-run fourth inning for New York, which led 5-2 after Tyrone Taylor’s run-scoring double in the fifth. The Mets are last in the NL with 22 runs scored and four-time All-Star shortstop Francisco Lindor is mired in a 1-for-31 slump to start the season.

Left-hander Andrew Abbott takes the ball for the Reds on Sunday. He took a no-decision Monday against the Philadelphia Phillies, allowing two runs on three hits in 5.1 innings. New York counters with left-hander Sean Manaea, who was brilliant against the Detroit Tigers on Monday with six shutout innings, allowing one hit and fanning eight, in a no-decision.
