This week’s mid-week National League East series between the Nationals and Phillies got off to a bang for Philadelphia on Tuesday with an 11-0 win. The Phillies have now won four of their last five and will go for the series win Wednesday night at Citizens Bank Park.

The Phillies scored 11 runs on 13 hits in Tuesday’s win, an 11-0 shutout victory. That included three home runs, with two coming off the bat of left fielder Kyle Schwarber. Those blasts bring Schwarber’s total on the season to 25, which leads the National League and ranks second in the Majors.
That performance was another strong one for the Philly offense, which has been rolling as of late. Over their last five games, they’re averaging 7.8 runs per game.
Righty Josiah Gray will be on the mound for the Nationals tonight, trying to slow that lineup down. Gray found success in his last outing against the Phillies on June 18, allowing no runs and just one hit in six innings.
Looking to build on last night’s shutout by the Phillies will be righty Aaron Nola. Nola is 5-5 with a 3.13 ERA so far this year.
