The NBA Summer League in Salt Lake City is officially underway. 

Four teams compete in Salt Lake City this week, including Memphis and Philadelphia. This will be the first opportunity for both teams to showcase some of the young talent on the roster. 

Both the Grizzlies and Sixers are among the best teams in the NBA, meaning the hope is that a few of their young prospects blossom into rotation pieces.

The Sixers have one of the better players in this summer league in Paul Reed. He’s a quality big that typically dominates competition at this level, hence winning the 2020-21 G League MVP Award. 

Memphis has a solid development program, which has proven essential as the Grizzlies are one of the best teams in the NBA despite being incredibly young. It wouldn’t be surprising to see one or two of these summer league prospects become quality NBA talents. 

The past two G League MVPs will face off against a loaded Grizzlies roster today. Between Memphis and Philadelphia, plenty of NBA-level talent is taking the floor.
