This game is a matchup of two potential first team All-Defensive players and the top two defenders in the league overall. Rudy Gobert is the favorite to win Defensive Player of the Year, anchoring the league’s best scoring defense and the top-rated defense.
While Los Angeles does not have the same team success, sitting in the bottom third of the league in points allowed and 14th in defensive rating, Davis has been incredible all season. Davis is third in rebounding, second in blocks and seventh in steals among bigs.
Gobert and Davis anchor the paint for their respective teams with Edwards and James making plays on the perimeter on the offensive end.
