Top Week 3 Sleepers at Every Position in Fantasy Football

With tough decisions on the horizon, here are the top sleepers at every position heading into Week 3 of the fantasy football season.

Heading into Week 3 of the NFL season, injuries and uncertainties have riddled fantasy teams forcing teams to utilize players that wouldn’t normally be in starting lineups.

Sleepers are determined by players that are currently under the 50% mark on FantasyPros Consensus Rankings of Yahoo and ESPN fantasy football leagues. Here is the top sleeper at each position that you could easily plug and play from waivers this week.

DEF: Jacksonville Jaguars – 37.7% rostered

Jacksonville has had some mediocre performances through the first two weeks scoring 13 against Indianapolis on the road and just eight last week against Kansas City. They will have their easiest matchup of the year thus far against Houston possibly without CJ Stroud. I wouldn’t be surprised if Jacksonville has four-plus sacks, two-plus forced fumbles, one interception and allow fewer than 15 points.

TE: Zach Ertz, Cardinals – 39.6% rostered

Zach Ertz should be more rostered than he is, but at the thinnest position in any fantasy football league, Ertz should be an immediate plug and play over guys like Kyle Pitts, Pat Freiermuth and David Njoku. In two games, Ertz has 18 targets with 12 receptions and 77 yards without finding the end zone. He had 11.10 points in Week 1 which was TE12 and 14.60 points in Week 2 which was TE7 on the week.

WR: Josh Reynolds, Lions – 36.8% rostered

Josh Reynolds has been taking every advantage of the suspended Jameson Williams. In Week 1, Reynolds saw seven targets and pulled in four receptions for 80 yards. Last week, he found the end zone twice on six targets for five receptions and 66 yards exploding for 23.60 fantasy points. With Reynolds still widely unrostered, he should provide high potential for upcoming bye weeks and for injury-related issues in Week 3.

RB: Roschon Johnson, Bears – 36.7% rostered

Coming into the season, Roschon Johnson’s usage was up for question. Through two weeks though, Johnson has separated himself from Khalil Herbert as a top back in the passing game. He has only run for a total of nine times in two games for 52 yards and a touchdown. He has also seen nine targets for eight receptions and 45 yards through the air. In a desperate situation, Johnson should be able to manage 8-10 points in PPR.

QB: Matthew Stafford, Rams – 36.8% rostered

Matthew Stafford hasn’t had any big games this season by any stretch for a quarterback. He had 14.96 points in Week 1 and 14.48 in Week 2. He has thrown for 641 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions in two weeks. Missing Cooper Kupp has definitely shown for the QB. However, Puka Nacua has made a rising of himself and Stafford has loved him. With the solidifying of Kyren Williams at the RB position, this offense should take another leap forward against a weak Cincinnati defense.
