The WNBA’s top two teams collide in Las Vegas as the Aces host the Sun tonight.
The Sun (6-2) had the best record in the WNBA last season, while the Aces (8-1) were next in line. Both teams fell short in the postseason but are off to solid starts as they square off for the first time in 2022 at Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas on Tuesday night.

Under first-year head coach Becky Hammon, Las Vegas has won six in a row and hasn’t missed a beat since superstar Liz Cambage left to sign with the Sparks. Jackie Young, Kelsey Plum and A’ja Wilson spearhead the WNBA’s best offense as the Aces are averaging 113.9 points per 100 possessions.
Connecticut has won two in a row, including a 79-71 win over the Mystics on Saturday. Alyssa Thomas had 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Courtney Williams and DeWanna Bonner scored 14 each.
Wilson dropped 22 points with 15 boards and Dearica Hamby also had a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds in Las Vegas’ 83-76 win at Chicago on Saturday.
This is the first of two straight games between the Sun and Aces in Las Vegas; the teams will tip-off again on Thursday. Their final meeting is set for July 17 in Connecticut.
