After stepson Trent witnesses a murder, FBI agent Malcolm Turner brings back Big Momma, his plus-size alter ego, to help solve the crime. The duo must try to find the killer before the killer finds them, but complicating matters is Trent's crush on a student.

After a slew of traffic accidents, police detective Andy Washburn is demoted and has his driver's license revoked by his lieutenant. While on duty one day, Andy learns of a bank robbery and hails a taxi driven by new cabbie Belle. They lose the robbers in a chase through New York City, and Belle's taxi is impounded. Andy promises to get the car back for Belle if she helps him catch the thieves.
