Attorney Walter Colby (Zachary Scott) has ties to the mob, but he begins to regret his criminal affiliations. When his sultry girlfriend, showgirl Flaxy Martin (Virginia Mayo), who also has shady connections, becomes a suspect in a murder, Walter takes the fall. However, on his way to prison, he escapes, determined to bring the real killer to justice. Aided by the beautiful Nora Carson (Dorothy Malone), Walter searches for Flaxy and gets to the bottom of the mystery.

Clash by Night

After being away for 10 years, Mae Doyle (Barbara Stanwyck) returns to her California hometown following an affair with a married politician, which came to an end when he died and his relatives sued for her inheritance. Mae begins dating Jerry (Paul Douglas), an amiable fisherman, while his bitter best friend, Earl (Robert Ryan), a cynic married to a burlesque dancer, finds himself attracted to her. Mae and Jerry marry, but soon she gets bored and starts an affair with just-divorced Earl.

They Live by Night

Wrongly convicted for murder as a teen, "Bowie" Bowers breaks out of prison with two other criminals, Chickamaw and T-Dub. While hiding out, Bowie meets Chickamaw's niece, Keechie, and they bond. Wanting to clear his name, Bowie decides to participate in a robbery with the others, so he can afford a lawyer. As he gets drawn further into crime, Bowie contemplates running away with Keechie and starting over.

Somewhere in the Night

After a World War II injury, George Taylor's (John Hodiak) memory of his life is fuzzy, to say the least. In an effort to reverse his amnesia, he tracks down alleged murderer and thief Larry Garter, from whom he received a letter. Along the way, he meets lounge singer Christy Smith (Nancy Guild) and police inspector Donald Kendall (Lloyd Nolan). They aid him in the search for Garter and his stolen loot, but all find themselves mired in a much bigger mystery than they anticipated.

Border Incident

In this topical film noir, a gang smuggles illegal Mexican farmworkers across the California border and kills the immigrants before they can return home. When federal agents Pablo Rodriguez (Ricardo Montalban) and Jack Bearnes (George Murphy) go undercover to overturn the organization, they find themselves face-to-face with its leader, Owen Parkson (Howard da Silva). The agents quickly realize that what began as a routine murder case has become a struggle for survival.

Nora Prentiss

A successful and hardworking doctor, Richard Talbot (Kent Smith) strays from his marriage when he meets Nora Prentiss (Ann Sheridan), a beautiful nightclub performer. While Richard doesn't want to end his affair with Nora, he also can't face divorcing his wife (Rosemary DeCamp) and struggles to resolve his inner conflict. A surprising opportunity leads Richard to develop an unlikely plan that could allow him and Nora to run off together, but the scheme may not work out the way he intended.

Fallen Angel

An unemployed drifter, Eric Stanton (Dana Andrews) wanders into a small California town and begins hanging around the local diner. While Eric falls for the lovely waitress Stella (Linda Darnell), he also begins romancing a quiet and well-to-do woman named June Mills (Alice Faye). Since Stella isn't interested in Eric unless he has money, the lovelorn guy comes up with a scheme to win her over, and it involves June. Before long, murder works its way into this passionate love triangle.

Hoping to update his chapter on modern slang, encyclopedia writer Professor Bertram Potts (Gary Cooper) ventures into a chic nightclub. Inside, he meets the snarky burlesque performer "Sugarpuss" O'Shea (Barbara Stanwyck). Fascinated by her command of popular jargon, Potts invites her to stay with him. But, unknown to Potts, she is the fiancée of a mobster (Dana Andrews) and wanted by the police. In the ensuing mayhem, Potts must stay on his toes or be swallowed up by bigger fish.

Seems Like Old Times

Nick Gardenia (Chevy Chase) is a writer who has moved to a cabin in the California mountains to work on a novel. He is kidnapped by a pair of criminals and forced into robbing a bank. On the run from the law, Nick seeks assistance from his ex-wife, Glenda (Goldie Hawn), a big-hearted lawyer. Knowing he would never commit a crime, she lets him stay at her house despite the fact that her husband, Ira (Charles Grodin), a district attorney, is throwing a party for law enforcement officials.

Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines

In 1910, newspaper mogul Lord Rawnsley (Robert Morley) decides to offer a large cash sum to the first pilot to successfully fly over the English Channel. Aviation experts from near and far enter the race, including the underhanded Sir Percy Ware-Armitage (Terry-Thomas), wild American flyer Orvil Newton (Stuart Whitman) and British ace Richard Mays (James Fox). Orvil and Richard come out as the front-runners, but both men are distracted by Rawnsley's lovely daughter, Patricia (Sarah Miles).

The Great Race

A spectacular land race from New York to Paris in the early 20th century is planned, the two main competitors being the handsome, dashing hero in white, The Great Leslie (Tony Curtis), and the dastardly, black-suited Professor Fate (Jack Lemmon). While Fate's sidekick, Max (Peter Falk), attempts to sabotage Leslie and the other racers, Leslie finds an unlikely ally in Maggie DuBois (Natalie Wood), a suffragette and journalist-turned-racer whose car breaks down halfway through the event.

Grand Prix

The most daring drivers in the world have gathered to compete for the 1966 Formula One championship. After a spectacular wreck in the first of a series of races, American wheelman Pete Aron (James Garner) is dropped by his sponsor. Refusing to quit, he joins a Japanese racing team. While juggling his career with a torrid love affair involving an ex-teammate's wife, Pete must also contend with Jean-Pierre Sarti (Yves Montand), a French contestant who has previously won two world titles.

Wagon Master

When a group of Mormons are run out of town for their religious beliefs, Elder Wiggs searches for a wagon master to guide the outcasts to the San Juan Valley. Happening upon horse traders Travis Blue and Sandy, Wiggs convinces the men to take the position due to their intimate knowledge of the area. Despite Blue and Sandy's guidance, the travelers experience numerous setbacks, especially when the Clegg family outlaws take refuge in their wagon train.

The Proud Ones

There's trouble brewing for Marshal Cass Silver (Robert Ryan), a Kansas lawman struggling to maintain peace in his small cattle town. As the community awaits a sweep of trail herds coming from Texas, Honest John Barrett (Robert Middleton), the shady owner of the town saloon, plots to have Silver killed. Things get even worse when Thad Anderson (Jeffrey Hunter), the son of a hired gun killed by Silver years earlier in self-defense, arrives in town.

Stagecoach

A motley crew of travelers are forced to band together while making a treacherous crossing through American Indian territory in a rickety stagecoach. Along the way, a drunken doctor (Bing Crosby) finds a moment of redemption, a pregnant captain's wife (Stefanie Powers) discovers the kindness of strangers, a pompous banker (Bob Cummings) gets his comeuppance and a sweet woman with a bad reputation (Ann-Margret) finds love with the Ringo Kid (Alex Cord), a duty-bound cowboy set on revenge.
