PWBA BowlingPWBA Bowling is a professional sport for female bowlers. The Professional Women's Bowling Association (PWBA) is a governing body that was established in the year 2000 and currently has over ninety members from all around the United States and International locations. It has hosted four international tournaments and five U.S. Open tournaments. The current season runs from June to December and is structured into two parts: the PWBA Tour and PWBA National Regular Season. The PWBA Tour consists of nine events throughout the season at venues around the United States, while the PWBA National Regular Season consists of seven events at PWBA- certified centers around the United States and Canada. Both Tour events and National Regular Season events offer cash prizes for top finishers. The PWBA also kicks off its season with the USBC Queens, the major annual tournament for professional female bowlers. The USBC Queens is the only PWBA Tour event that allows players to roll a single game per frame, and the tournament's single-game total prize money is the same as the regular Tour events. The winner of the event will receive a $20,000 check. Popular players in the PWBA include Shannon O'Keefe, Kelly Kulick, Diandra Asbaty, and Liz Johnson. As of 2019, Kelly Kulick has the most Tour titles with 13, and Shannon O'Keefe has the most USBC Queens titles with 3. At the end of the season, the top 24 players in the PWBA Player Points Race qualify for the PWBA Playoffs. Throughout its history, the PWBA has produced some of the best female bowlers in the world. Some of its most successful champs include Carolyn Dorin-Ballard, Liz Johnson, and Michelle Feldman, who have all won multiple PWBA titles. The PWBA strives to provide a solid foundation for female bowlers to develop their skills and promote camaraderie through competition. With its competitive format and talented pool of bowlers, PWBA Bowling is sure to keep its place as one of the premier professional sports organizations for female bowlers.
