The Office

S9, EP24 "A.A.R.M."

As everyone prepares for the premiere of the documentary, Jim convinces Dwight that he needs to hire an assistant to the assistant to the regional manager; after being turned away at daycare, Angela brings her baby to work.

This U.S. adaptation -- set at a paper company based in Scranton, Pa. -- has a similar documentary style to that of the Ricky Gervais-led British original. It features the Dunder-Mifflin staff, which includes characters based on roles in the British show -- and, quite possibly, people with whom you work in your office. There's Jim, the likable employee who's a bit of an every man. Jim has a thing for receptionist-turned-sales-rep Pam -- because office romances are always a good idea! There's also Dwight, the co-worker who is successful but devoid of social skills and common sense.

Four mature women live together in Miami and experience the joys and angst of their golden years; strong-willed Dorothy, spacey Rose, lusty Southern belle Blanche and matriarch Sophia, Dorothy's mom, occasionally clash but are there for one another in the end; after all, when the show's theme song is titled "Thank You for Being a Friend," the ladies have to remain friendly with one another.

Reba

A showcase for the acting talents of country music star Reba McEntire, this sitcom revolves around recent divorcee Reba Hart; her ex-husband, Brock, and his new wife, Barbra Jean; and their children: newlywed and new mom Cheyenne, rebellious teen Kyra and young Jake. The temperamental matriarch struggles with dealing everyone in her home.

The Simpsons

This long-running animated comedy focuses on the eponymous family in the town of Springfield in an unnamed U.S. state. The head of the Simpson family, Homer, is not a typical family man. A nuclear-plant employee, he does his best to lead his family but often finds that they are leading him. The family includes loving, blue-haired matriarch Marge, troublemaking son Bart, overachieving daughter Lisa and baby Maggie. Other Springfield residents include the family's religious neighbor, Ned Flanders, family physician Dr. Hibbert, Moe the bartender and police chief Clancy Wiggum.
