Taking a cue from the slew of programs featuring "Real Housewives" of a certain locality, this series also features a bunch of photogenic but shallow social climbers and the self-inflicted drama they heap upon themselves. Here, six members of Gotham's gay elite are followed as they bounce from party to nightclub to beach house to -- well, you get the idea. In the midst of all the scheming, betrayals and tears, these materialistic men also attempt to advance their careers, but it's obvious these fame-seekers are simply more interested in looking good, being seen and having fun. Female (and straight) cast member Nyasha Zimucha joins the boys in the second season to mix things up a smidge.

The L Word

This long-running Showtime series features intertwined stories about the lives and loves of a group of lesbians and bisexuals in Los Angeles. The characters date, get into committed relationships, consider having families, hook up, break up, question their sexuality, stay in the closet, come out or sleep around -- sometimes all of the above.

Queer as Folk

Set in working-class Pittsburgh, the drama revolves around a group of gay friends and their relationships, careers, loves and ambitions.

The Real L Word

In this offshoot (sort of) of Showtime's drama series "The L Word," cameras follow lesbians in Los Angeles and New York as they go about their lives. These ladies juggle their highly successful careers, social lives, relationships and families -- under the watchful eyes of viewers.
