There are hidden national treasures all across the United States, in basements and barns, attics and backyards, just waiting to be uncovered and recognized for their true historic value. National Geographic Channel is on a mission to find them in this series produced by Thom Beers' Original Productions ("Deadliest Catch," "Storage Wars"). Hosts Curt Doussett and Kinga Philipps visit one city per episode in search of unique, mysterious and unusual collectibles and heirlooms, and with the help of curators, appraisers and other experts, Doussett and Philipps trace the history and value of three museum-worthy items. The one deemed the most significant in American history wins its owner $10,000 as special recognition for the artifact's importance.

Legends & Lies: The Real West

Fox News mainstay Bill O'Reilly jumps behind the camera, serving as executive producer of this series that explores stories behind some of the most famous -- and infamous -- figures of the Old West. Each episode delves into the life of one such individual, using new interviews, archival photos and forensic science to paint a complete picture of the person. Direct descendants and historians are among the interviewees who shed light on the lives of such figures as Jesse James, Davy Crockett, Doc Holliday and "Wild" Bill Hickok. The 10-episode series is a companion to O'Reilly's book of the same name.
