The beginning of the primate family story in Southeast Asia where primates evolved here almost 60 million years ago.

"Amazing Monkeys" tells the story of the evolution of primates, taking a look at the various branches of the primate family tree. Biologist Patrick Aryee travels to locations in Asia, Africa, Central America and South America to get close to some of the world's most charismatic and mischievous monkeys. In addition to the intimate encounters, the show uses wildlife photography, field demonstrations and CGI animations to tell the narrative of the primates, which include four monkey dynasties -- prosimians, Old World monkeys, New World monkeys and apes.
