Even a little local knowledge can be the difference between making or breaking a fishing expedition. That's the attitude veteran anglers Ali Hussainy and Rush Maltz celebrate on this show. The friends from opposite ends of the country -- Ali is a Californian, while Rush is from the Florida Keys -- explore their home grounds as well as exotic hot spots, seeking out unique aspects and hidden jewels of each destination. They also recognize the characters who pursue a lifelong addiction to fishing and the outdoors. "We want to eat and hang out where the locals do," Rush says. "That is where the real fishing stories are told."

Focusing on the culture of fishing, as seen through the viewpoints of two drastically different fishermen.

Rush teams up with Jesus Diaz for a well-earned busman's holiday in the beautiful waters of Key West; the duo maps out a strategic circuit through Key West's surrounding waters to target cobia, grouper, snapper, and tuna for a busy day off work.

When the yellowtail at the islands refuse to play, it's time to switch up the game plan. Ali and Rush pivot north of San Diego in search of hard-charging bluefin tuna during a multi-day mission aboard the 43' custom ACI Catamaran Killer Bee.

Returning to Venice, Louisiana for the first time in nearly a decade, Rush reconnects with longtime friends Eric and Monique Newman of Journey South Outfitters for an unforgettable inshore fishing adventure in the heart of the Mississippi River.
