"Tyler Perry's House of Payne" is a comedy series about a multi-generational, working-class family who experience all of life's struggles with faith, love and humor. Atlanta firefighter Curtis "Pops" Payne thinks his home is his castle, but he needs a bigger moat around it. His nephew CJ and the kids invade his space for an extended stay, and his penniless son Calvin still visits regularly, mostly for mealtimes and laundry days. Luckily, Curtis has a loving wife who never gives up and keeps him from breaking down.
Kaleb tries to convince Jazmine that if she loved him she would have sex with him; Jazmine tells Kaleb that she isn't ready; Ella and Curtis return from their vacation early.
Malik and Lisa have different must-watch television shows airing at the same time, but only one television; CJ and Malik suspect that Miranda is going on a date only to make Calvin jealous.
Miranda visits Ella with secret hopes of running into Calvin; Lisa goes to Curtis and Ella after her argument with Malik seeking advice; Curtis cuts down Ella's flower bed by accident.
Miranda implores Curtis to babysit her son, C.J. pressures Malik to join the workforce, and Lisa and Malik get an unexpected crash course in parenting.
