Chicago P.D.'s Intelligence Unit, led by Sgt. Hank Voight, investigates the city's most formidable offenses -- drug trafficking, organized crime, high-profile murders and other large-scale felonies. The squad -- made up of Voight, Trudy Platt, Kim Burgess, Adam Ruzek, Kevin Atwater, Jay Halstead and Hailey Upton -- is committed to protecting the city and seeking truth, but in the midst of a changing criminal justice system, the team struggles to maintain peace in the community. Voight must learn to adapt to a shifting sociopolitical climate and embrace new tactics to crack down on crime in the city he loves.

Olinsky tries to protect his daughter; a counterfeiting operation is investigated; when a hoarder is arrested, more than clutter is uncovered.

When the son of an influential former officer is implicated in a murder, Moore pressures Voight to charge him quickly; the stakes are raised in Atwater's fight against the blue wall after patrol officers stop responding to his team's calls.

Atwater and Burgess must keep their new patrol car in mint condition; the Intelligence Unit uncovers drug smuggling; Voight's behavior toward Lindsay drives her right where he doesn't want her; tensions rise between Olinsky and Ruzek.

Ruzek and Burgess discover a child walking alone in the middle of the street, and when they take her home, they discover that her entire family has been murdered; Upton is approached with a job offer from the FBI.
