A spinoff of "Star Trek: The Next Generation," "Deep Space Nine" is set on a space station near the planet Bajor. This time, Commander Benjamin Sisko is in charge of a diverse crew. But unlike other "Star Trek" series, there's no USS Enterprise to help them. Sisko and the crew must fight off rival alien species who want control of Deep Space Nine because of its strategic position close to a wormhole, which allows speedy travel to the far reaches of space.

Kira and Dax risk their lives to reveal the truth about the coup to the Chamber of Ministers, while Sisko defends the station against Bajoran rebels.

A seemingly timid Trill arrives on the station and takes the crew hostage, demanding to be joined to the Dax symbiont.

A moral dilemma arises when a young Cardassian boy, orphaned during the war and raised by Bajoran parents, becomes a pawn in a political game.

A Ferengi woman disguised as a man violates several Ferengi laws when she offers Quark business advice about a big deal he is trying to close for the Nagus.
