Andy Taylor is the widower sheriff of the small, sleepy North Carolina town of Mayberry. Andy and son Opie live with Aunt Bee, who takes care of the family. Andy's deputy is his bumbling but neurotically hilarious cousin, Barney Fife. Among Andy's Mayberry friends is the town's resident barber, Floyd.

Barney buys a fortune-telling game and mistakenly summons the 200-year-old spirit of a count who offers to grant Opie three wishes.

Barney becomes a part-time real-estate agent and soon has a couple of buyers and sellers lined up, including Andy.

Barney is on the spot when he gets Andy to let him use the Taylor home for an East-West summit meeting.

Goober tries to impress an old friend from mechanics school by claiming to own a chain of gas stations.
