Before hosting Discovery's "Dirty Jobs," Mike Rowe had a program in San Francisco about folks on a mission -- mad scientists, eccentric collectors, devoted do-gooders -- called "Somebody's Gotta Do It." Now, CNN gives Rowe free rein to scour the country for people who, he says, "do what they do because of a weird mix of love, compulsion, obsession, dedication -- whatever it is. Those people have always interested me." The former series focused on the task, but this version spotlights the personality. Or, as he puts it: "More mission, less poop."

Mike continues his tour aboard the USS John C. Stennis to look at the on-board entertainment and meal regime; he takes a leisurely stroll on deck to search for dangerous ball bearings and camera equipment.

Mike faces down a 2,000 pound bull, learns the art of making craft chocolate, and is transported back in time to visit President Lincoln.

Mike Rowe discovers how hard it is to make a bobblehead at an affordable cost in the United States; Mike meets Archie Storey, a man who makes guitars out of cigar boxes.

Mike Rowe joins 30-year veteran ornithologist John Gerwin to find out what excites an ornithologist and how his job fits into the bigger picture of bird and wildlife health and behavior.
