Four mature women live together in Miami and experience the joys and angst of their golden years; strong-willed Dorothy, spacey Rose, lusty Southern belle Blanche and matriarch Sophia, Dorothy's mom, occasionally clash but are there for one another in the end; after all, when the show's theme song is titled "Thank You for Being a Friend," the ladies have to remain friendly with one another.

Blanche dreams of a visit from her deceased husband; Dorothy finds herself in a love triangle while looking to meet her ideal man.

Sophia becomes a sexy seductress to lure Tony into bed; Rose promises celibacy.

The unexpected happens when Blanche tries to break up with her disabled boyfriend.

Dorothy tries to mend the rift between her mother and recently widowed sister-in-law, Brenda, at her brother's funeral.
