"NCIS: Origins" follows a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs in 1991, years prior to the events of "NCIS." In the series, Gibbs starts his career as a newly minted special agent at the fledgling NCIS Camp Pendleton office where he forges his place on a gritty, ragtag team led by NCIS legend Mike Franks.
In the present, Gibbs returns to civilization and calls in a favor from old friend Woody; in 1992, the team bands together to help Woody when he's accused of murdering a bowling rival.
In 1992, Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard helps the team investigate when a young Marine is found murdered on a beach with suspicious markings all over his body; in the present, Gibbs reunites with a familiar face from the past.
