A solo walker from London thought Tryfan would be a fun day out - now he is stranded with no phone signal, no map, and no way to call for help. Simultaneously, a man lies injured beside a remote waterfall in a spot where no one is likely to find him. And out at sea, a holidaymaker on a rubber dinghy is drifting further from shore with every passing minute. Three people in three very different kinds of danger - and the rescue teams must reach them all.

A massive multi-team operation is launched to find a missing person as weather conditions deteriorate fast. Then an extraordinary coincidence puts help exactly where it is needed - the only thing standing between a hypothermic walker and death in a raging mountain storm. And elsewhere, one wrong turn sends a group of young friends into serious and unexpected danger. It is a night that tests the limits of every rescue team in North Wales.

Deep in the remote Glyderau mountains, a rock crushes a man's leg and his friend faces an agonising decision, stay by his side or go for help; an injured woman is found on the hillside but fights every attempt to carry her to safety; and a father and son, lost in thick mountain mist, get an unexpected lifeline from a stranger passing at just the right moment; three different rescues, each one pushing the teams in different ways.

Rescuers are searching for an injured man who may have taken hallucinogens, someone with no sense of the danger he is in and no ability to help himself be found; two climbers are trapped on a sheer ledge with darkness closing in and no torches between them; and a family takes a wrong turn on one of Wales' unforgiving peaks, turning a day out into a frightening ordeal; the teams have seen a lot, but tonight throws them something different.
